Our client is a very successful and quality producer of concrete and concrete products with over 30 years of experience. The company is constantly searching for new innovations and has expanded from strictly a ready mix manufacturer to a diversified operation that manufactures and supplies high quality ready mix, industrial shotcrete, precast septic tanks and landscape products and aggregates from its own quarries.
Our client has an aggressive business plan to grow and is in urgent need of a Project Manager/Material Engineer for its expanding operations based in New Brunswick.
Reporting to the Vice President, the Project Manager/Material Engineer is the senior
Engineer at the Bathurst facilities and quarries. He/she is responsible for evaluating materials, machinery and processes for the production of concrete, shotcrete and aggregates.

The incumbent will report on quality and production; and take the business critical role of analyzing product output and failure data, in order to determine causes of problems and develop solutions.
Duties include:
• Supervising tests on raw materials or finished products in order to ensure quality.
• Overseeing processing procedures.
• Determining appropriate methods.
• Evaluating technical specifications and economic factors that apply to process or product objectives.
• Monitor material performance and evaluate material deterioration.
• Plan and implement operations for the purpose of developing material and fabrication procedures that meet cost, product specification, and performance standards.
• Supervise production and testing processes.
• Perform managerial functions such as preparing proposals and budgets, analyzing labor costs, and writing reports.
• Plan and evaluate new projects, consulting with other as necessary.
• Supervise the work of technologists, technicians and consultants.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The Project Manager/Material Engineer must have the relevant education with a solid background in concrete manufacturing and aggregate production. Knowledge of quarry operations is an asset. Ideally, the incumbent will be bilingual with a minimum of five years of relevant experience.
